The Belief in Prophets

Through out history God has sent messengers to point people back to the “straight way”. Every nation has received such a guidance. Muslims believe that most Prophets were sent with reminders and that written revelation was only “sent down” to a few.

There are 25 prophets mentioned by name in the Qur’an (20 of these are in the Bible, as well), although Muslims believe that there were many more throughout history. Following are the 25 prophets mentioned in the Qur'an:
